Reclaim Ease and Awareness Through Somatic Kriya Yoga

Where movement becomes meditation and breath awakens intelligence in every cell

At Crystal Spirit Yoga & Healing, Somatic Kriya Yoga isn’t about perfect poses — it’s about cultivating presence.
This practice invites you to slow down, breathe consciously, and rediscover the natural intelligence of your body.
Through mindful movement, breath, and inner awareness, you’ll learn to release deep-seated tension, regulate your nervous system, and return to a state of harmony — from the inside out.

What Is Somatic Kriya Yoga?

This Somatic Kriya Yoga blends the classical roots of Hatha and Kriya Yoga with modern somatic awareness practices.

Each class integrates breath-led movement, subtle internal sensing, and meditative stillness to create balance between body, mind, and energy.

You’ll explore how:

  • Movement follows breath, not the other way around

  • Awareness becomes the bridge between the physical and the subtle

  • The body’s wisdom can guide you toward emotional and energetic release

Rather than striving for shape or perfection, you’ll feel your way into the posture, unlocking ease, resilience, and flow.

The Somatic Approach

Somatic practice means embodied learning — sensing and experiencing yourself directly, not just thinking about how you “should” move.

This mindful awareness re-educates your nervous system, helping release habitual tension and restore your body’s natural rhythm.

In Elizabeth’s classes, you’ll be guided to:

  • Slow down and notice subtle sensations and internal cues

  • Breathe consciously to regulate your nervous system

  • Repattern movement from effort to effortless coordination

  • Integrate sound, stillness, and awareness for holistic healing

Every class becomes a journey of remembering: you are not separate from your body — you are the living expression of it.

Why Practice Somatic Kriya Yoga

This practice supports you if you are:

  • Healing from injury, stress, or emotional fatigue

  • Feeling disconnected from your body or breath

  • Seeking gentler, deeper forms of yoga that nourish your whole being

  • Wanting to enhance your meditation or breathwork practice

Benefits include:

  • Greater mobility, balance, and stability

  • Deep nervous system regulation

  • Emotional release and resilience

  • Renewed energy and vitality

  • Clarity and inner peace

What Is Yoga Nidra

This Yoga Nidra practice draws from the classical roots of yogic sleep and meditative awareness, combined with a modern understanding of nervous system restoration.

Each session guides you into a state between waking and sleeping, where the body can deeply rest while awareness remains gently present.

You’ll explore how:

  • Rest becomes an active state of healing, not simply the absence of activity

  • Awareness can remain steady as the body softens and releases

  • The nervous system recalibrates when given the conditions for true stillness

Rather than trying to relax, you’ll be guided into a state where relaxation happens naturally — allowing the body and mind to restore, integrate, and return to balance.

What to Expect in Class

Each session unfolds as a gradual, embodied journey:

  • Arrival & Centering: Breath awareness and nervous system grounding

  • Somatic Movement: Guided sequences that awaken subtle strength and flow

  • Kriya Practices: Breath, bandha, and energy-focused awareness

  • Integration: Stillness, sound healing, or often a short Yoga Nidra to absorb the practice

All levels are welcome. Movements are adaptable to your needs — whether you’re rebuilding strength, finding freedom in movement, or deepening inner connection.
